Kadugodi has three major infrastructure projects in 2026. They are the ₹35 crore Hope Farm underpass, the ₹664.5 crore Cantonment–Whitefield rail upgrade and the ₹1,481 crore Whitefield–Bangarpet rail plan. Work at Hope Farm began in May 2026. The rail upgrade to Whitefield is about 75% complete. The Bangarpet plan is still at an early stage.

The Hope Farm underpass will be about 300 metres long. It has an initial work period of around 200 days. The 19 km Cantonment–Whitefield rail project now has a March 2027 target. Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station has been open since March 2023. It is existing transport, not a new project for 2026.

Hope Farm Junction Underpass

Hope Farm Junction is one of the busiest points near Kadugodi. Traffic from Kadugodi, Whitefield, ITPL and Chandapura meets here. Drivers can wait through signal cycles of almost 120 seconds. Long queues are common during office hours.

The new underpass will carry Whitefield–Kadugodi traffic below the junction. This route will become signal-free after the road opens. Traffic from ITPL and Chandapura will stay on the surface road. The project costs about ₹35 crore and covers nearly 300 metres.

Work began in May 2026 after an 11-year delay. Land and payment disputes had held up the project. The civic body gave an initial work period of about 200 days. This points to a late-2026 target if the work stays on schedule.

Traffic Near Hope Farm During Construction

Travel near Hope Farm may remain slow during the work. Some lanes are narrow, and temporary service roads carry part of the traffic. Heavy vehicles and road work can add to peak-hour delays.

People going towards Kadugodi, Whitefield Main Road or ITPL should keep extra travel time. The road will give full relief only after the underpass and both approach roads open.

The underpass is part of a wider ₹140 crore road plan for east Bengaluru. The plan also includes a Hoodi flyover and an underpass near Big Bazaar Junction. These two works had not made clear progress by August 2026. They should not be listed as projects that will open soon.

Cantonment–Whitefield Railway Upgrade

The Cantonment–Whitefield rail project will add two more tracks on a busy route. The line links central Bengaluru with KR Puram, Hoodi, Whitefield and Kadugodi. It was approved in 2018 for ₹492 crore. The cost has now risen to ₹664.5 crore.

The full project covers 19 km. The 5 km stretch from Cantonment to Byappanahalli West Cabin is open. Work is pending on the next 14 km from Byappanahalli to Whitefield. About 75% of the total work was complete in 2026.

The new target is March 2027. Once ready, the route may support up to 14 more trains in each direction. The railway will decide the final train count and timetable.

Whitefield Railway Station Improvements

Whitefield Railway Station is on the Kadugodi side of the area. Work at the station is linked to the new rail tracks.

The work includes:

  • New or improved platforms
  • Passenger foot overbridges
  • Better parking space
  • Improved passenger areas
  • Track and yard changes

Passengers may see temporary changes to station entry and platform use. These changes can continue until the wider rail work is complete.

Whitefield–Bangarpet Rail Project

The Whitefield–Bangarpet rail plan was notified in March 2026. It costs about ₹1,481 crore and covers 42 km. The plan will add two tracks beside the current two tracks. The route will then have four tracks.

The extra tracks can carry more local, long-distance and goods trains. They may also cut delays caused when trains wait for an open track. This route forms part of the busy Bengaluru–Chennai rail link.

The first surveys began in 2022. The final project report was sent in November 2025. The scheme later received special railway project status. This can speed up land work and official checks.

The project is not ready and has no firm opening date. It was still at the land, approval and early work stage in August 2026.

Kadugodi Metro Status in 2026

Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station is already open on the Purple Line. Metro service began here in March 2023. It links Kadugodi with KR Puram, MG Road, Majestic and west Bengaluru.

The Metro is an important part of local travel in 2026. However, it is not a new project. No new Metro line was under active work inside Kadugodi in August 2026.

Kadugodi Footpath Work in 2026

Bengaluru East City Corporation ran a footpath clearance drive in July 2026. The drive covered 10.3 km across east Bengaluru. Kadugodi division accounted for 1.5 km.

The teams removed shops, sheds, ramps, boards and other blocks from walking areas. Across all covered divisions, they cleared 318 blocks and more than 53 tonnes of building waste.

This work made parts of the footpath easier to use. It was a clearance drive, not a full rebuild of every road and footpath in Kadugodi.

What These Projects Mean for Kadugodi

Kadugodi already has Metro and railway access. The Hope Farm underpass can improve road travel to Whitefield after it opens. The two rail projects can add track space and support more trains. These gains will come in stages.

The same transport network serves Seegehalli and Whitefield–Hoskote Road. Brigade Granada is located in this belt. Whitefield Railway Station is about 6.1 km from the project. Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station is 8.4 km away, while Hope Farm Junction is around 8.9 km away.

Buyers should check present and future access separately. The Metro and railway station are in use now. The underpass and rail projects have not yet given their full travel benefit. The project was added after a general Kadugodi paragraph, so it still looked like a forced insertion. Replace that full section with this buyer-focused section:

One of the Best Upcoming Projects by Brigade Group in Kadugodi East

Brigade Granada is an upcoming 40-acre mixed-use township in Seegehalli, off Whitefield–Kadugodi Road. It is opposite VIBGYOR High School and around 750 metres from NH-75. The project is about 6.1 km from Whitefield Railway Station, 8.4 km from Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station, 8.9 km from Hope Farm Junction and 9.9 km from ITPL.

Residents can use the existing Metro and railway network for travel towards Whitefield, KR Puram and central Bengaluru. The Hope Farm underpass and Cantonment–Whitefield rail upgrade can further improve access after completion. This gives Brigade Granada the benefit of current transport links and planned infrastructure growth.

Is Kadugodi Infrastructure Improving in 2026?

Yes, Kadugodi infrastructure is improving in 2026. Hope Farm work has started after a long delay. The rail line to Whitefield is 75% complete, and Whitefield Station is being improved. Footpath clearance has also taken place in the Kadugodi division.

Not every plan is close to completion. Hope Farm work may cause short-term traffic, while the Whitefield–Bangarpet line is at an early stage. The Hoodi flyover and Big Bazaar underpass also remain delayed. Residents should rely on current status, not only on announced plans.
